Professional Carriage Bolt Manufacturer-T&Y Hardware
A carriage bolt, also known as a carriage screw, round head bolt, or coach bolt, is a fastener with a unique design. Its head is semi-circular with a smooth surface without drive slots, while the neck is provided with a fixing device that can be inserted into the mounting hole to stop the bolt from rotating. This design allows it to be fixed only by fastening the nut at the tail once installed, thus providing a degree of anti-theft function and aesthetics.

When installing carriage bolts on wood materials, follow these steps:
- Drilling:
Drill a hole in the predetermined location, the diameter of which should be slightly smaller than the size of the carriage bolt neck (square neck).
- Install the bolts:
Place the carriage bolt into the hole and hit the head of the bolt with a hammer until its neck (square neck) completely sinks into the surface of the wood.
- Assemble accessories:
At the other end of the bolt protruding from the wood, put washers, nuts and other required accessories in turn as needed.
- Fastening:
Using a suitable tool (such as a wrench or socket), tighten the nut evenly to the desired strength.
First, a square hole should be machined on the metal part, slightly smaller than the size of the bracket bolt neck.
Then, insert the bolt vertically into the hole and gently tap the bolt head to fully embed the bolt neck (square neck) into the machined square hole.
Finally, install the washer and nut in sequence on the other end of the bolt and tighten them.
